Frequently asked questions

Who should apply?

Any recent college graduates, 26 or younger, not married, who are trying to follow Jesus and desire to start well as a young professional. This includes 1) people trying to discern whether they are being called to pursue vocational ministry and 2) people who are called to the marketplace but not sure which sector therein or how to link their career to eternal purpose.

What are your program's beliefs?

The Atlanta Fellows Program is Christian organization that adheres to the beliefs laid out in the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Westminster Confession of Faith. The Atlanta Fellows graduate-level courses are overseen by Reformed Theological Seminary in Atlanta and our church, City Church Eastside, is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).

Who are the host families?

Host families are really, really, really generous people who care enough about recent college graduates that they are willing to share their homes and their lives with them for nine months and beyond. They are members of City Church Eastside or other gospel-centered churches in the city.

How do Fellows get paid internships?

Landing a paid, professional internship is an integral part of being an Atlanta Fellow, so we will not admit someone into the program who we feel less-than-confident about being able to help them secure a paid professional internship. Once Fellows are admitted and commit to being a part of the next class, our Internship Coordinator works with them to perfect their professional résumé, prep for interviews, schedule interviews, and generally help them navigate this entire process.

What kind of internships will be available to Fellows?

You name it. Our program has connections in finance, marketing, PR, communications, education, entrepreneurship, fundraising, real estate, program/office administration, plus tons of other local businesses, start-ups, and non-profits.

How much does the program cost?

Program tuition is $7,500, covering costs associated with seminars, conferences, retreats, training, seminary coursework, and program administration. Upon acceptance into the program, Fellows must pay a $1,000 deposit. From there, most Fellows pay their tuiton in installments. 100% of tuition must be paid by the start of the Fellows year.

Do you offer scholarships? And what about fundraising?

Although right now we're not able to provide scholarships to Fellows, we will do everything we can for Fellows who need financial assistance. For more information, please contact Program Director Mark Casper at markrcasper1@gmail.com. Most Fellows fundraise most if not all of their tuition by sending support letters to friends and family. But don't worry—if you've never done it before, we're here to help you every step of the way.

What is a Fellows Program?

A Fellows Program is an intensely practical nine-month experience designed to prepare recent college grads to live seamless lives of faith. As a Fellow, you'll experience a part-time professional job in your field of interest, theological coursework, bible study, mentoring, and service. This leadership development program equips Fellows to have a thoughtful impact in their city and the culture at large. Click here to learn more about the Atlanta City Fellows program.
